TAKEOUT-STYLE FRIED RICE

Ingredients 

• 2–3 cups cooked day-old jasmine rice

 • ¼ cup regular soy sauce 

• ¼ cup sweet soy sauce 

• ⅓ cup teriyaki glaze 

• ⅓ cup sweet Thai chili sauce 

• 1 tablespoon browning sauce (Gravy Master) 

• 1 teaspoon sesame oil

 • 1 tablespoon salted butter 

• ½ cup diced onion

 • ⅓ cup frozen peas 

• 1 cup shredded green cabbage

 • ½ cup sliced green scallions

 • 2 large eggs (optional)

DIRECTIONS

1. Heat a large sauté pan over high heat. Add sesame oil and butter. 

2. Add diced onion and shredded cabbage. Cook until slightly softened and wilted. 

3. Add cooked rice to the pan and spread evenly.

 4. Add regular soy sauce, teriyaki glaze, and sweet Thai chili sauce. Toss to combine. Slowly add browning sauce while stirring until desired color is achieved. 

5. Finish with sweet soy sauce and adjust seasoning to taste. 

6. Add frozen peas and toss until heated through.

 7. If using eggs, scramble separately in a pan and fold into the fried rice. 8. Garnish with sliced green scallions and serve hot.
